Advania has announced the acquisition of Gompute, a high-performance computing (HPC) and AI infrastructure platform previously owned by Nordic data centre leader atNorth. The deal brings specialist AI and compute capabilities into the Advania Group, with Gompute teams in Sweden and Spain joining the business.

Used by organisations in sectors such as financial services, CAE and R&D, Gompute’s infrastructure helps clients handle compute-heavy workloads while meeting strict data sovereignty requirements – a critical advantage in regulated industries.

Strategic growth across the Advania group

The Gompute acquisition builds on Advania Group’s wider ambition to become a truly AI-focused IT services provider – one that supports clients all the way from strategy to delivery.

It follows the recent addition of The AI Framework, a respected Nordic consultancy known for guiding clients through AI-led business transformation. Together, these moves signal Advania’s intent to deliver something unique across European markets: AI that is practically deployable, strategically grounded, and backed by the infrastructure it needs to succeed.

Speaking on behalf of Advania, Henrik Foyn-Laukvik, Head of M&A, said:

“As AI adoption accelerates across industries, organisations need infrastructure that meets both performance and regulatory demands. With Gompute, we can deliver those capabilities in-region, on-demand and under full client control, ensuring regulatory compliance without compromising performance. We are committed to growing Gompute’s role as a trusted HPC platform while expanding its AI potential.”

Hege Störe, CEO of Advania, added:

“AI isn’t slowing down, and neither are we. We live for our clients to succeed, and we’re excited to help them make the most of AI capabilities with the infrastructure, expertise, and sovereignty they need to move forward with confidence. Exciting things are happening across the entire AI landscape, and we’re positioning ourselves to help our clients capitalise on every opportunity.”

Speaking on behalf of atNorth, Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, CEO commented:

“Driven by continued growing demand for atNorth’s services, we are sharpening our focus on high-density colocation and build-to-suit data centres. Gompute has played a key role in our HPC journey, and its evolution with Advania marks an exciting next chapter. Advania’s AI-ready sovereign cloud vision aligns seamlessly with the platform and hosting it in our high-density data centres will enhance our strategic partnership and deliver a powerful solution for the market’s evolving needs.”

What is Gompute?

Gompute is no ordinary infrastructure platform. it’s engineered to deliver unmatched performance for HPC and AI/ML workloads as both private cloud and bursting clusters, while its reputation for power, speed and scalability has made it a trusted choice for organisations running compute-heavy workloads such as engineering simulations, financial risk modelling, artificial intelligence and computer-aided engineering (CAE).

Built with scalability and industry-grade compliance in mind, Gompute offers:

  • A full-stack HPC and AI environment
  • Scalable cloud computing clusters tailored for demanding enterprise needs
  • Sovereign, in-region infrastructure
  • Comprehensive service levels, technical support and data control

With Gompute now part of the Advania family, customers working on technically ambitious projects with high compute demands have access to extraordinary infrastructure that makes scale possible, and performance dependable.

Equally, existing Gompute customers will now benefit from Advania’s broader AI capabilities, including strategic advisory and implementation, while continuing to receive the same high-performance infrastructure, integrated software environment, end-user support, service levels, and technical specifications they trust.

What this means for Advania UK

For UK customers, this acquisition further reinforces Advania’s ability to support larger, more complex AI and data programmes with a stronger mix of infrastructure, governance and deeply technical service.

It also delivers important benefits around sovereignty and control – especially for sectors like public services, financial services and manufacturing, where compliance and proximity are top priorities.

Geoff Kneen, CEO of Advania UK, commented:

“The acquisition of Gompute marks another important step in Advania’s mission to deliver AI that works in the real world. Their platform strengthens our ability to support clients with demanding technical workloads, while giving them greater control over how and where their data is processed. It’s a powerful extension of our AI, cloud and infrastructure services here in the UK and across Europe, and a big advantage for organisations looking to turn ambition into outcomes.”
