Advania ALT offers companies at various stages of AI adoption an intelligent, governed AI operating layer, which securely connects multiple sovereign and frontier AI models
Today, Advania announced the launch of Advania ALT, a sovereign AI platform available across seven markets and is specifically designed to help organisations adopt, govern and scale their AI capabilities in a secure, flexible and controlled way.
Unlike infrastructure-only sovereign AI offerings, Advania ALT is designed as an operating layer which sits above sovereign compute. It enables organisations to use sovereign models where control matters most and frontier cloud models where their capabilities add value. Each request is then routed and policy-enforced according to customer requirements. Data is also hosted and processed by a local in-country entity in the locations where the platform is being launched, reducing exposure to access and jurisdictional risks posed by some global cloud providers.
As AI becomes a core capability across almost every industry, many organisations have already moved beyond individual AI initiatives and experimentation towards production use cases that touch sensitive data, regulated processes, and business critical decisions. At the same time, shadow AI, vendor lock-in, fragmented governance, evolving regulation and increasing dependence on non-local technology providers has created new operational, financial and compliance risks.
Advania ALT has been built to address those challenges. It gives organisations access to trusted AI capabilities through a governed, production-grade platform, which combines model access, enterprise data integration, agent orchestration, security controls, auditability, observability, and end-to-end operations. Additionally, the platform is supported by Advania’s advisory, implementation and managed services expertise, helping customers take AI from strategy to live service in a controlled way.
Advania ALT stands for Advania AI Layer Technology, the service is initially being launched in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland.
More Than Sovereign Compute
The platform provides access to leading commercial and open-source AI models, whilst allowing the user to maintain control over data, security, and governance via an intelligent connective layer between enterprise data, AI models, agents, and workflows. Securely routing each workload to the right environment based on data sensitivity, policy, performance, and cost.
Advania ALT is designed for organisations that need to unlock AI value fast, whilst maintaining control over sensitive information, regulatory obligations, and operating economics. Particularly relevant for mid-market enterprises, public sector bodies, and regulated organisations, where AI adoptions are progressing, but governance, data residency, cost predictability, and production remain critical concerns.
What differentiates Advania is the end-to-end associated services we offer together with Advania ALT. We support you with your AI transformation through managed services, expert professional support tailored to your business objectives and strategic technology sourcing. We ensure you have access to the right solutions and partners so that you can scale with confidence and achieve long-lasting value from your AI investments.
“Organisations do not lack access to AI, the challenge is how to scale it safely, govern it properly and ensure the right workloads run in the correct places,” said Errol Norlum, Chief Data & AI Officer at Advania.
“With Advania ALT, customers no longer need to choose between innovation and control. They can utilise advance AI capabilities, whilst retaining visibility, accountability, and confidence over how their data and AI services are used.”
Connecting sovereign and frontier AI
While some sovereign AI services focus primarily on GPU capacity, Advania ALT brings together the broader controls and services needed to run AI in production. The platform combines model access and inference, knowledge retrieval, prompt management, agent orchestration, workflow automation, evaluation, governance, compliance, and data integration, with identity controls, tracing, logging, and auditability.
This gives organisations a common foundation for AI adoption and scaling, helping to reduce the risk of unsanctioned tools while also standardising governance across different teams and departments.
Advania ALT also supports a hybrid approach to AI adoption. Sensitive workloads can be routed to sovereign environments, while less sensitive use cases can make use of frontier cloud models where appropriate. Allowing organisations to balance capability, control, performance, and cost without the need to completely rebuild AI architecture as requirements change.
The platform is the latest offering in Advania’s AI suite, which includes Microsoft AI services, Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption, AI agents built with Copilot Studio, Azure Foundry, AI governance and FinOps advisory, Advania-hosted AI platform services and fully local AI deployments on customer infrastructure.
Built for production
Advania ALT is designed to help customers move safely beyond AI experimentation and pilot. The platform includes enterprise-grade monitoring, support, service and incident management, compliance support, and predictable operating economics, which covers cost, usage, and capacity management. This gives IT, security, finance, and business leadership greater confidence in how AI services are used, managed, and governed.
Advania ALT supports both commercial and open-source AI models. The platform can be integrated with other systems via APIs, allowing organisations to adapt their AI environment as the market evolves, rather than having to completely rebuild it from the ground up.
“AI is rapidly becoming a staple part of the way organisations operate, compete and serve customers,” said Chris O’Brien CTO at Advania UK.
“For UK based organisations, the next phase of AI adoption will be defined by trust, control, and production readiness. Advania ALT helps customers innovate with confidence, by giving them a governed foundation for AI, which is sovereign where it needs to be, connected where it adds value and supported sector experts, who regularly take AI from strategy to live service.”

About Advania
Advania is a Northern European IT services provider operating across seven markets: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. The company works with mid-market enterprises and public sector organisations where IT complexity is high and the stakes of getting it right are real.
Advania supports the full lifecycle of IT, from advisory and architecture through to implementation, managed services, and ongoing improvement. Its approach is vendor-neutral, built around matching the right technology to each organisation rather than promoting a fixed stack. Core capabilities span cloud, cyber resilience, and artificial intelligence, alongside hardware lifecycle and circular IT services.
With approximately 5,000 employees, Advania operates through a model that keeps decision-making close to customers while drawing on shared expertise and scale across markets. The result is the kind of relationship depth usually associated with local providers, combined with the capability range of a larger organisation.
