CASE STUDY

The Audio Visual Group

When our client was tasked with outfitting The Scalpel in London with AV technology, we leveraged our expert knowledge and Cisco accreditations.

The Audio Visual Group’s London-based client was moving into brand-new office space. The brief was demanding – video conferencing solutions that were fast to deploy, low-touch to manage, cost-effective to run and seamlessly integrated into daily workflows – all from one vendor.

Scaling new heights in London's prestigious skyscraper

Sometimes the most impressive projects happen in the most iconic buildings.

When The Audio Visual Group was tasked with outfitting four floors of London’s striking new skyscraper, The Scalpel, it needed a partner that could match its ambition and expertise.

Industry:

Audio visual & technology integration

Size:

Sister company to leading UK cabling provider

Solution:

Cisco technology solutions professional services

The challenge

The Audio Visual Group’s client required a complete AV equipment installation across four floors of The Scalpel, one of London’s most prestigious new addresses.

The complexity increased when the client selected Cisco as its sole solution provider, arriving with a precise room-by-room kit list. As Alex Smith, Design & Estimator at The Audio Visual Group, explained: “Having not previously worked with Cisco, we needed to source a partner who could not only help us to obtain the Webex Room Kits, but who could also assist with determining the specific product bundles required.”

Not being Cisco accredited, it needed a trusted partner that could navigate both procurement and technical complexities. That’s where Advania came in.

The solution

Drawing on our established relationship supporting its internal IT and leveraging our top-tier Cisco accreditations, we became The Audio Visual Group’s trusted technology partner for this prestigious project.

Ahead of the project, it was specified that the client required multiple standard Cisco Webex Room Kits. However, following subtle changes to the office layout at deployment, some changes needed to be made to the product specifications which were critical to both timing and budget for the project.

Some rooms needed upgrades from standard Cisco Webex Room Kits to the more powerful Room Kit Plus due to size and user requirements. This wasn’t just about procurement – it was about ensuring the solution perfectly matched the refined environment of this landmark building.

Our pre-sales team’s deep product knowledge proved invaluable during these critical moments. We acted as the essential bridge between The Audio Visual Group and Cisco, ensuring excellent commercial terms while refining technical details to perfection.

The outcome

The project delivered exactly what this client demanded – a sophisticated AV solution that matched the calibre of their new London headquarters. The installation across The Scalpel’s four floors created seamless video conferencing capabilities that impressed both users and visitors.

Alex Smith summarised the collaboration perfectly: “Advania acted as an invaluable partner and intermediary between ourselves and Cisco, helping us to achieve excellent commercials and refining the technical details to ensure the solution was spot on.”

The project’s success has strengthened The Audio Visual Group’s reputation in high-end commercial installations and opened doors to similar prestigious opportunities.
