Unlike typical virtualisation projects that rely on shared storage devices, we designed a solution using local storage to work within the physical limitations of maritime vessels.
Working with our client from initial discovery to design and full implementation, our team engineered a custom solution based on VMware and HP VSA technology, creating two host VMware systems, each with local storage through the VSAs. This innovative approach delivered the high availability needed for virtual machines while respecting the space and environmental constraints of ocean-going vessels.
The implementation transformed MoLNG’s IT infrastructure, providing the robust, fault-tolerant systems they needed for their global operations. The solution eliminated the costly and time-consuming need for emergency flights to ships when IT issues arose.
